The leading cloud-based software provider for the distribution, automotive, and rental industries, Kerridge Commercial Systems (KCS) has recently made a sizeable increase in its sustainable operation with the installation of solar panels at two of their sites in Nottingham, England, and Stellenbosch in South Africa. Such positive installations further underline the company's ambition to realise a net-zero carbon emission future and help their customers see sustainability and profitability go hand in hand.
KCS is taking a decisive step towards reducing its scope one carbon emissions with the move, which the UK's National Grid defines as emissions produced by onsite business premises. While lease agreements differ between offices and locations, KCS is keen to transition to renewable energy where it can. In addition, the company recognises such measures are vital to achieving its target of reducing scope one and two emissions by 25% in 2030.
Our solar energy initiatives in Nottingham and Stellenbosch are a significant step towards a greener future for this company. In Nottingham, solar power now provides a third of the site's electricity needs, reducing our reliance on the grid and non-renewable energy sources. By producing more power at KCS sites, we're reducing our carbon footprint and actively supporting a safer, greener, and more prosperous future for us all.
Ian Bendelow, KCS Group CEO
'The recent installation of 157 solar panels at our Stellenbosch office is another significant milestone for us,' explains Giuseppe Martini, KCS Director for South Africa, as he describes the recent investment in the Stellenbosch site. 'Collectively, they deliver 80 kilowatts of clean and renewable energy , which we estimate to be around half of our total site requirement.'
As part of a dual-pronged approach, KCS is also empowering its users with their ERP software, inspiring them to cut their own resource usage. By delivering efficient and eco-friendly solutions for their industry, KCS is not just working hard, but leading the way towards a sustainable and profitable reality, inspiring others to follow suit.
