This enables standard word searches to utilise this search method. For example, typing ‘Brik’ would also return ‘Brick’ , typing ‘Smyth’ would return ‘Smith’, etc. It is possible to set default settings for the search at the system level or for individual searches allowing different searches to behave differently.
The settings can be used to select whether the search uses fuzzy logic or soundex, neither or both. There are also settings to determine the “fuzziness” of the search as well as the ordering of the results.
