KCS continues its support for Laptops for Kids, with over 80 machines donated to date

Eager to promote opportunities for all, Kerridge Commercial Systems (KCS) and MAM Software continue to help the non-profit campaign Laptop for Kids by donating re-purposed computers to schools that need them most.

Laptops for Kids was launched to ensure every child gets safe access to the internet so they can fulfill their educational potential. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, many kids couldn't participate in online learning during classroom closures. At a time of national crisis, the public, private and third sectors have come together to solve this problem.

"We’re passionate about playing our part to close the 'digital divide' among disadvantaged young people," explains Ian Bendelow, CEO of the Kerridge Commercial Systems Group. "Sadly, many young people have limited access to remote learning. The pandemic highlighted this situation, but it still needs to be addressed. As a result, we’re proud to support this fantastic charity and would urge others to do the same."

The campaign also means KCS continues to align with its core values. "By re-purposing these laptops for use by children, we’ve not only created a 'win-win' scenario for the recipients and us but we’re also delivering on our core values," added CEO Ian Bendelow. "At KCS, sustainability is at the heart of what we do. By re-using this equipment, we help others and protect our environment, so we’ll continue to re-purpose and donate our re-purposed laptops to this great initiative."

Laptops for Kids is appealing for new and used devices and publicizes its work through the local, regional and national media. Should you wish to donate, please visit www.ltfk.co.uk, where you will find further details.
